Have you fished for salmon shark from a kayak?

Here is more info about this sport;

I live in Alaska but know little about this form of fishing, any information on the great.
How fast do I troll for them, what size hooks in the salmon bait do I use? Etc etc?
I have just got to try this!
Sorry for the typo; I meant any information would be great.

Good place to fish in MI/Northern MI? charters/resorts/whatever?

I am looking for good places to fish in Michigan that aren’t crowded or too pricey. Ideally, i would like a resort style place where I can rent a cabin and a boat (and maybe gear/tackle) that still maintains its ruggedness…ie I don’t need designer cabins, paved roads, etc. As for fishing, i’d like to go after walleye, northerns, muskee and trout/salmon if there is a river nearby. Anyone have any ideas?

Best spots for salmon fishing + do i need a permit?

I’ve never fished for salmon before but Im interested. I’ve heard i should book an "excursion" or "charter" with a guide. Is this necesarry?

I was thinking Nova Scotia or Alaska, but I dont really know for sure if this is best or where to start as far as using a reputable charter/guide company…can anyone give me a clue? Also, best time of year to go, though I imagine this depends on the location. Thanks.

Fish recipes for someone who is picky with fish?

I don’t mind fish. I really like salmon baked on a cedar plank, and tuna salad – I love fish and chips.

However, I hate anything that tastes or smells fishy. I don’t know which kinds of fish are more likely to have that smell and taste – or if its a certain way of packaging/preparing before buying that makes fish more likely to taste like that.

I stay away from making fish because of it, but I would really like to eat it more and try different kinds.

Any recipes or tips on buying fish?

One month trip around Alaska: how much can I expect to spend?

I am considering a trip around Alaska for a month next summer. I haven’t made an exact itinerary, but I do plan on hiking around Denali park, seeing some glaciers, doing some salmon fishing, and skiing possibly. It’s my intention to travel around a good area of Alaska (through ferry, hiking, flying), so there will definitely be a variety of lodging (camping, hotel, lodge, etc.). If anyone has done a similar excursion around Alaska, how much did it cost you total for the time period? I’ve only allocated about 00 for a trip (00 after airfare to Alaska), but I’m really hoping I can afford exploring Alaska with this amount of money. Like I said, I haven’t detailed exactly what I am going to do, but I want to make sure 00 is a reasonable enough to even consider Alaska. Thanks for any input!

Fishing Spots Around Warren, MI?

Ok guys, Im a big time fisher and would really like to know some killer spots for perch, walleye and anything else. If anyone knows any scenic hotspots (other than St.Clare) around Warren, MI area please let me know. The seasons are changing and now Salmon are in season, aside from that tho, the leaves are changing too… Fishing isn’t only a sport for me, its also a stress reliever, so any wooded river or anything like that is perfect. Feedback would be GREATLY appreciated. =)

And to all the fishermen in MI I hear Foote Dam is a hotspot for Salmon this year. Just word of mouth tho

How many grams of fish oil per day?

I bought some fish oil and the package description recommends 2 grams a day while some people told me 6-10g a day would be good.
Does every fish (canned tuna and stuff) have good oil acids or is it only salmon ?

Charter fishing in British Columbia?

Im looking to go on a trip in the summer to B.C to go fishing, i have never fished before, and im looking for a chartered trip, to catch salmon or halibut. Probably 2 days of fishing, and all the places ive looked at they limit the number of fish you’re allowed to keep…I want to be able to keep everything, is that possible?

Also what is a good chartered boat that can take us ( 4 people ) on the trip. Im not looking to spend outrageous amounts of money, but i do want something clean, and safe.

And lastly, is there a place in B.C that will clean and package the fish? Possibly smoke some of the salmon and can it? Is that done through the charter or do i have to take it somewhere, and if so, where?

Any information will help, like do i need a fishing license, or any sort of equipment, thanks in advance!

Summer Alaska fishing jobs?

I have read most of the guides on the web but still feel somewhat uncertain of some aspects.
1. How does one follow the different salmon peak weeks?
2. Do you just quit work and then travel to the new region or make sure you have a job before you set out?
3. What happens to the money they would have given you to fly up there?
4. How lenient are they on the alcohol/drug policy?
I appreciate anything you could help me with
Why? is it because of the volcano eruption? and will the anchorage region be only affected?
