Weird boyfriend problem…regarding fishing?

Ok, so here’s the deal.

I love surf fishing. Going to the beach and fishing in the waves in case nobody knows. During the summertime, I especially love chasing after corbina and big skates. Even during fall and wintertime, I enjoy fishing for surf perch and opaleye. But that’s not the problem.

My current boyfriend, Rene, 26, has started to take up the fun sport of surf fishing. I’ve taken him only a few times, maybe 2 or 3 times total. I took with before a couple times through June and July. He didn’t fish, though, mainly because he didn’t have a license, but more or less because he was afraid of the bait. What kind of a guy is afraid of dead anchovies, mussels, clams and squid. So anyway, he’s recently taken it up. He’s bought his license, saltwater stamp, a cheesy surf rod and spinning reel, he’s always asking me when I’m going again. He wants me to take him with me. I don’t really want to. We’ve been dating for about 2 months, I mean, I like the guy and everything, it’s just when I go fishing I like to do it alone.

My question is, how can I tell him in a nice way without sounding like a total B!TCH that I don’t want to take him along? I really just don’t want to put up with his whining about the bait stinking and the water being cold. It’s Santa Barbara, CA for crying out loud!

I’m asking this in both the Fishing and Singles & Dating sections of YA! Answers.

Thanks for your help,
Lucy.

Talulah Does The Hula From Hawaii?

Did anyone else hear about the ruling the judge made in New Zealand against parents naming their children odd names?

The name that caused him to make this ruling was a 9-year-old named "Talulah Does The Hula From Hawaii". Other names that were changed were "Sex Fruit", "Keenan Got Lucy" and "Fish and Chips".

When I first heard about this ruling about a judge changing odd names, I thought it was invasive on basic human rights, until I heard what the names were.

What are your thoughts?
**EDIT** The parents were going through a divorce and a judge was looking through the papers and saw the girls name listed. That’s how he got involved.

Baby Name Poll: Should a judge be able to tell parents to rename their children?

New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions.

Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence,".

Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed from Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.

"The court is profoundly concerned about the very poor judgment which this child’s parents have shown in choosing this name," he wrote. "It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."

The girl had been so embarrassed at the name that she had never told her closest friends what it was. She told people to call her "K" instead.

Should US judges have the same right?

After seeing some of the proposed names on this site, I’m beginning to think so.

And I thought the name Shaniqua and Tyrone were bad… What the hell are these people thinking???

Judge: Girl’s name, Talula Does The Hula, won’t do

I think that it is officially time to start to sterolize people that want to name their kids things like:

"Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii"
"Fish and Chips"
"Yeah Detroit"
"Keenan Got Lucy"
"Sex Fruit"
"Number 16 Bus Shelter "
"Violence"
and the nut-job names that celebrities have been naming their kids like "Apple", "Soli Moon Fry", and others that, as the article said, "makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily."

White trash names like Cletus and Lerleen should be in the list along with the random mish-mash of Q’s and Y’s that constitute an "African American" name here in the US… (Because no, no one in Africa names their children Shaniqua… They know better.)

What is your opinion on such retardataion?

if you wanted to make a movie, how would you give it out to the public if no”famous” actors are in it?

i am a movie maker, producer, script wrieter, and actor who founded and owns JG/OT productions, and we are trying to make some movies and we can;t figure out how to show them to people for the whole world to see our brilliant ideas.

examples would be:
slugger- a movie about a blind base ball player

romono and julie- basicly a deeper and intact version of romeo and juliet with more explanation to the things.

David guillory- movie thats based on my book. its about a man who meets God and goes on an adventure with the powers God gave him with the help of Gary Angles (Gaurdian Angel) and Jessie Crissis (jesus), and he must defeat the evil Devon lucy (the devil) alomg the way.

boudreaux and tibideaux- two cajun friends find a madallion that gives them bad luck and they must destroy it, but first go through different obsticles.

El retado- a detective who has no clue about whats going on.

Strange names for children?

A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names. Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed. Other blocked names included Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit.

What is most unusual or bizaare name that you have come across?

Do you feel sorry for the girl who was named “Talua Does the Hula” by her parents?

Some parents should not be allowed to name kids don’t you think?

Should stoners be permitted to name their children? Even if it’s a name like “Fish and Chips”?

What do you think of the decision in New Zealand to eliminate bizarre/outrageous names for children?

I read this today, and I was completely shocked at some of the names these parents were giving their kids.

I’ll quote a piece of the article to give you a little taste of what I mean and of what the article entails:

"Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence," he said."

It got me to think about some of the names in America. Do you think this would be a good plan in this country? I do. I’m all for creativity, but when the name given is absolutely detrimental to the child’s life, its a problem. Its defintiely something I have noticed in the U.S. as well. I mean, think about it, if you were hiring for a job, who would you hire first, a guy named Kyle, or a guy named "Yeah Detroit"?

Heres the article link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080724/ap_on_re_au_an/new_zealand_bizarre_names

Please, be kind about it.
Yeah, Happy-2, it is pretty sad, no denying that for a second.

What do you think about New Zealand’s unusual way to name children??

just an example of the names that they choose: Talula does the Hula, Bus Shelter, Violence, Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy, Sex Fruit ,and tragically.
