I’m looking for a tool that’s like a needle nose pliers, but at the tip it has some sort of edges that allow to cut through small pieces of metal, specifically a fish hook. I’m looking to be able to cut hooks that get lodged in a fishes throat enough so the whole hook isnt in there, or cut the tip off a hook if it goes through an eye. Again, looking for took like needle nose. Nothing bulky that wont fit in tight places easily.

If fish feel pain (as previous Yahoo Answers have opined), doesn’t it mean that a fish, getting hooked by a sharp object in the mouth (fish hook) and being yanked up to hundreds of feet by it, would suffer severe discomfort?
And if that’s true, shouldn’t fishing as a sport be discouraged?

This question is probably more of a poll on your opinion.
I am based in the Pacific Islands and we can get some sinister fish hook ups.
I use Shimano equipment for Landbased Game Fishing and Penn for My Offshore Sport Fishing.

Some people say just pick one or the other!

I’m quite fond of the Penn HT100 Drag System. I think it is vastly superior in stopping power and life to the Shimano.

Long story short, my buddy and I were fishing. He cut his line and it got down in my face and I thought it was a fly. Swipped my finger from one side of my body to the other and… well… it wasn’t a fly. It was his line with the hook still attached. And when I swipped my finger, took the fish hook with me deep into my finger. Haha, lets just say that hurt like crazy.

But once that happened, my body reacted very weird. I was up in the mountains and nobody was there basically but luckily, I found an offduty Firefighter who was on vacation. I walked over to him, said: "Can you help…" and then I fell to the ground without even having my finish my sentence.

My body began to overheat (sweating – outside temp. was about 70), my skin went pale, I had a shortness of breath, couldn’t really comprehend anything anybody was saying to me, and it acted like my body went into shock.

I couldn’t pull it out because it hurt so badly but honestly, when it first went in to my finger, I didn’t feel anything after it went in. But for the next three mins, went numb. And after, that is when my whole body started reacting crazy.

Why did it act like I went into shock for something like this? Happened a lil’ while ago and I’m all better now but never understood why it did that for an accident this minor. Thanks.
