I have a Peppered Cory who is behaving very lethargically & will not eat. None of the other five cories are behaving this way. It seems as though Bronze cories (the 3 that I have) are much more active than the 2 peppered cories (including the one in question).

I am prompted to ask this because the cory I am concerned about just floats around very inactively. It can self-right & swim just fine, but seems to "doze off" and will "catch" himself and slowly swim off to some corner or lodge itself between some leaves. Though I know cories are nocturnal, in the 6 months or so that I have had it, the cory has JUST started doing this.

Also, the cory does not eat when I feed the tank (this is the main thing that caught my interest). I had been treating the tank intermittently with an "algae-gone" type product, and it seemed as though both peppered cories might have been grazing on the algae, but the other peppered cory is not exhibiting this behavior.

I keep it in a ten gallon tank with the four other corydoras at work on my desk, and feed them 1/4 tablet of the sinking algae wafer every day during the week (5 days).

I just measured the water quality, and the water is just right for them.

Some internet research suggests this may be constipation, and prescribe salt in the tank. From what I understand, this is a bit controversial.

For now I am simply keeping him in a 1/2 gallon quarantine tank (all I can afford, now), but with no medication, yet. This tank does not have aeration, gravel, or anything; just water and the cory. I plan to perform 1/2 water changes daily until his activity picks up, and then after a couple more days return him to the main tank.

What would you guys suggest I do about my cory?

1. i bought cheap rod&reel combo(*under *) @ walmart… would i be needing an upgrade?.. *the fishing line is under 15pound*

2. All i’ve caught on the pier(redondo pier) are spanish mackerels using sabiki rigs… What will i be needing for this day? (Lures*what kind?..*, baits?, any other fishing equipments?)

3. Are there any websites that can help me learn about boat/sea fishing?

Ok, so I’ll be visiting Yosemite in California. Trout Stream & River fishing starts the week AFTER I get there – What a shame! But, if I could, COULD I CATCH TROUT by hand in shallow water? Or is that still considered illegal fishing?

A friend and I went charter fishing in the tropics and agreed to take turns catching fish. A rod gets hit and he tells me to go first, and I catch a small tuna. Later another rod gets hit and he starts reeling it in, then another one and it’s handed to me, but after a few reels there is nothing on the line so I set it back down. He keeps reeling his & catches a small tuna.

An hour later something big hits the downrigger pole and he grabs it right away and reels in a trophy baracuda- like an 80lb fish. The captain wants to know if we want to have it mounted and my friend looks at me like I’m supposed to pay the 0 for mounting (I had already paid for his plane ticket and hotel room as a gift cause he’s broke plus he still owes me 0 from something else).

I tell him that he caught it so he has to pay for it if he wants it mounted. So he says he doesn’t have the cash and the captain cuts it free and it swims away.

Wasn’t it my turn and should I be pissed off about it?

Its a bachelor party with 4 guys who have experience fishing, but never gone deep sea fishing before.
We’re thinking florida or maybe even Atlantic City. we’re also planning it one of the first two weeks in March.
We’re in Wisconsin, Ohio, California, & South Carolina, so the 5 of us are all over and we’re going to have to travel anyway; location is not an issue.

Also, We’re wanting to do the fishing on the first day, then that night and the next day move on to other bachelor party festivities. The bachelor really wants to do the deep water fishing.

Just so you know sd waterman, I bought a lot of lures and I always use live bait! I kinda wanna get my moneys worth of my lures!

So I got stuck cycling a 30 g with 3 Balloon mollies. I started with API Stress Zyme+ on the 1, 7 & 14 day. I had an ammonia spike .5 on the 4th day and on the 5th day one mollie died. Again on the 12 day the ammonia got up to .25 – .5 and I did 25% water change, it didn’t reduce the ammonia. On the 14 day the ammonia was still .25-.5 and one mollie was gulping air so I did a 50% water change. It was pretty dirty, so I was overfeeding. Today on the 15th day the other mollie is not good. I think she’s dying as I found her lodged by the intake tube on the pump, her one fin is not working at all, her cheeks are red and I see two white spots on her (ich)

So my questions.

Should I take her out. I don’t have a medical tank right. What to do with her?
How high can the ammonia be to get the cycle going while not killing the fish. (I hate doing it with fish)
Any suggestions.
I need help, not people telling my I killed my fish, I feel bad enough already.
