What do you think of the decision in New Zealand to eliminate bizarre/outrageous names for children?

I read this today, and I was completely shocked at some of the names these parents were giving their kids.

I’ll quote a piece of the article to give you a little taste of what I mean and of what the article entails:

"Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter "and tragically, Violence," he said."

It got me to think about some of the names in America. Do you think this would be a good plan in this country? I do. I’m all for creativity, but when the name given is absolutely detrimental to the child’s life, its a problem. Its defintiely something I have noticed in the U.S. as well. I mean, think about it, if you were hiring for a job, who would you hire first, a guy named Kyle, or a guy named "Yeah Detroit"?

Heres the article link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080724/ap_on_re_au_an/new_zealand_bizarre_names

Please, be kind about it.
Yeah, Happy-2, it is pretty sad, no denying that for a second.

Are these foods acceptable to bring into New Zealand?

I am going into New Zealand as a tourist, and I’m bringing gifts for people that I’m staying with. However, I don’t know what’s acceptable to bring in and what isn’t. The embassies are all closed for the holiday break, so hopefully you guys can help me. The list of things I want to bring is:

Dried herbal tea bags
Ferrero Rocher chocolates
Chocolate toffee
Turkey jerky (similar to beef jerky)
Almond candy
Dried fruit trail mix
Fish oil capsules

Thanks!

Please help .

does any one know of a good and inexpensive sport fishing fleet in cabo?

If anyone out there lives in New Zealand, can you describe if and how it has changed since 1993?

Do you still have "Dairies" as convenience stores? Is Rotorua still bubbling? Do people still commute by ferry from the nearest island in Auckland? Politically speaking, what is the current relationship between Pakehas and Maories. Did I spell that right? I believe that the current "natives" were preceeded by a ferocious tribe with a similar name. I think they pronounced it MA OR I or something like that.

I really miss the friendly people and taking a yacht out of Auckland’s harbour to pick one of the hundreds of little islands with it’s own little natural safe harbor to stay the night. I miss fishing the bottom for snapper to cook up on the beach. I miss New Zealand!
I appreciate any information you can give me.
THANKS MATE!
